A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Adobe Flash Player up to 9.0.124.0 (Multimedia Player Software). This affects the function asfunction: of the component Protocol Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross-site request forgery vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-352. Interaction error between Adobe Flash and multiple Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) services allow remote attackers to perform Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) style attacks by using the Flash navigateToURL function to send a SOAP message to a UPnP control point, as demonstrated by changing the primary DNS server.
The bug was discovered 04/08/2008. The weakness was released 04/09/2008 by Rich Cannings with Google Security Team (Website). The advisory is shared at adobe.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2008-1654 since 04/02/2008. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
