A vulnerability was found in Apple Mac OS X 10.3.9 (Operating System). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing. Buffer overflow in iChat in Apple Mac OS X 10.3.9 and 10.4.9 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application termination) and possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted UPnP Internet Gateway Device (IGD) packet.
The bug was discovered 05/24/2007. The weakness was published 05/25/2007 by iDefense Labs with iDEFENSE Labs as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). The advisory is shared for download at kb.cert.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2007-2390 since 04/30/2007. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
