Mozilla Firefox before 2.0.0.15 and SeaMonkey before 1.1.10 on Mac OS X allow remote attackers to bypass the Same Origin Policy and create arbitrary socket connections via a crafted Java applet, related to the Java Embedding Plugin (JEP) and Java LiveConnect.

The weakness was shared 07/02/2008 by Gregory Fleischer with Mozilla as MFSA2008-29 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at mozilla.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2008-2806 since 06/20/2008. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
