The weakness was released 07/02/2008 by John G. Myers, Frank Benkstein and Nils Toedtmann with Mozilla as MFSA2008-31 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at mozilla.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2008-2808 since 06/20/2008. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
