A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Apache HTTP Server (Web Server). This affects an unknown functionality of the component mod_proxy_ftp. mod_proxy_ftp in Apache 2.2.x before 2.2.7-dev, 2.0.x before 2.0.62-dev, and 1.3.x before 1.3.40-dev does not define a charset, which allows remote attackers to conduct cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks using UTF-7 encoding.
The bug was discovered 01/10/2008. The weakness was presented 01/11/2008 by sp3x with SecurityReason (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at redhat.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2008-0005 since 12/03/2007. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1059.007 according to MITRE ATT&CK.

Upgrading to version 2.0 eliminates this vulnerability.
