Unspecified vulnerability in AppKit in Apple Mac OS X before 10.5 allows user-assisted remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted document file, as demonstrated by opening the document with TextEdit.
The bug was discovered 05/28/2008. The weakness was released 06/02/2008 (Website). The advisory is available at us-cert.gov. This vulnerability was named CVE-2008-1028 since 02/26/2008. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
