A vulnerability was found in PHP (Programming Language Software) and classified as problematic. This issue affects the function imageRotate. The manipulation of the argument third with an unknown input leads to a information disclosure vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-200. Array index error in the imageRotate function in PHP 5.2.8 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to read the contents of arbitrary memory locations via a crafted value of the third argument (aka the bgd_color or clrBack argument) for an indexed image.
The bug was discovered 02/26/2009. The weakness was released 12/24/2008 by Hamid Ebadi (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at redhat.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2008-5498 since 12/12/2008. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
