Heap-based buffer overflow in Google Chrome before 17.0.963.56 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted Matroska video (aka MKV) file.
The weakness was released 02/15/2012 by Mateusz Jurczyk (scarybeasts) with Chromium Development Community as 110849 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at code.google.com. The public release was coordinated with Google. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2011-3019 since 08/09/2011. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be launched remotely.
