translate/translate_manager.cc in Google Chrome before 17.0.963.56 and 19.x before 19.0.1036.7 uses an HTTP session to exchange data for translation, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information by sniffing the network.
The weakness was released 02/15/2012 by Mateusz Jurczyk (scarybeasts) with Chromium Development Community as 112236 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at code.google.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2011-3022 since 08/09/2011. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
