The WebUI privilege implementation in Google Chrome before 17.0.963.83 does not properly perform isolation, which allows remote attackers to bypass intended access restrictions via unspecified vectors.
The weakness was released 03/21/2012 by Sergey Glazunov (PinkiePie) with VUPEN as 117418 (Website). The advisory is shared at code.google.com. The public release was coordinated with Google. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2011-3054 since 08/09/2011. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1068 for this issue.
