Integer overflow in IN_MOD.DLL (aka the Module Decoder Plug-in) in Winamp before 5.57 might allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via an Oktalyzer file that triggers a heap-based buffer overflow.
The weakness was released 12/18/2009 by Dyon Balding with Secunia Research (Website). The advisory is available at vupen.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2009-3997 since 11/19/2009. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD at the moment (estimation calculated on 08/30/2021).
