A vulnerability was found in OTRS up to 2.3.2 (Service Management Software) and classified as problematic. This issue affects some unknown processing of the component Access Restriction. Open Ticket Request System (OTRS) before 2.4.0-beta2 does not properly enforce the move_into permission setting for a queue, which allows remote authenticated users to bypass intended access restrictions and read a ticket by watching this ticket, and then selecting the ticket from the watched-tickets list.

The weakness was disclosed 03/18/2011 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at source.otrs.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2009-5056. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be initiated remotely. Required for exploitation is a simple authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.

Upgrading to version 0.5 eliminates this vulnerability.
