libsecurity in Apple Mac OS X before 10.7.4 accesses uninitialized memory locations during the processing of X.509 certificates, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted certificate.
The weakness was disclosed 05/10/2012 by Aaron Sigel (Paul) with Aalto University (Website). The advisory is available at lists.apple.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2012-0654 since 01/12/2012. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
