Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in SonicWALL Scrutinizer 9.5.2 (Firewall Software). This affects the function CGI of the file MyView of the component Dashboard. The manipulation of the argument newName with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. This is going to have an impact on integrity.
The weakness was released 02/11/2013 by Benjamin Kunz Mejri with Vulnerability Laboratory Research Team (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at vulnerability-lab.com. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. A authentication is necessary for exploitation.
