A vulnerability was found in Google Chrome 24.0.1312.71 (Web Browser) and classified as critical. This issue affects an unknown functionality of the component Skia. Skia, as used in Google Chrome before 25.0.1364.97 on Windows and Linux, and before 25.0.1364.99 on Mac OS X, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read) via vectors related to a "user gesture check for dangerous file downloads."
The weakness was shared 02/21/2013 by Abhishek Arya (Inferno) with Google Chrome Security as 170666 as confirmed posting (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at code.google.com. The vendor cooperated in the coordination of the public release. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2013-0888 since 01/07/2013. The attack may be initiated remotely.
