The ipmi_fmt_udpport function in epan/dissectors/packet-ipmi.c in the IPMI dissector in Wireshark 2.0.x before 2.0.1 improperly attempts to access a packet scope, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (assertion failure and application exit) via a crafted packet.
The weakness was presented 01/04/2016 with Google (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at code.wireshark.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2015-8739 since 01/03/2016. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
