A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Milkeyway Captive Portal (version now known). Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown processing of the file admin/traffic.php. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The bug was discovered 03/01/2006. The weakness was presented 03/16/2006 by Francesco "aScii" Ongaro (Website). The advisory is shared at ush.it. The attack can be launched remotely. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1505 for this issue.
The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 16 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. By approaching the search of inurl:admin/traffic.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
