Affected by this vulnerability is the function nsBidi::BracketData::AddOpening of the component SVG Bidirectional Content Handler. The weakness was disclosed 08/02/2016 by Atte Kettunen (Inferno) with Google Chrome Security Team as MFSA 2016-64 as confirmed security advisory (Website). Using the Address Sanitizer tool, security researcher Atte Kettunen found a buffer overflow during the rendering of SVG format graphics with directional content. This is caused by a flaw in directional-isolate processing and results in a potentially exploitable crash.
