The cvtClump function in the rgb2ycbcr tool in LibTIFF 4.0.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds write) by setting the "-v" option to -1.

The weakness was presented 10/03/2016 by Security Team with Qihoo 360 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.maptools.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-3624 since 03/21/2016. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
