A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in PHP up to 5.6.29/7.0.14 (Programming Language Software). This affects the function phar_parse_pharfile of the file ext/phar/phar.c. Off-by-one error in the phar_parse_pharfile function in ext/phar/phar.c in PHP before 5.6.30 and 7.0.x before 7.0.15 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory corruption) or possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted PHAR archive with an alias mismatch.
The bug was discovered 01/19/2017. The weakness was disclosed 01/24/2017 (Website). The advisory is shared at php.net. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2016-10160 since 01/24/2017.
