Details
A vulnerability was found in GraphicsMagick 1.3.24 (Image Processing Software) and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is the function DrawDashPolygon of the file magick/render.c of the component SVG Renderer. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a input validation vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-20. The product receives input or data, but it does
not validate or incorrectly validates that the input has the
properties that are required to process the data safely and
correctly. Impacted is availability. CVE summarizes:
The DrawDashPolygon function in magick/render.c in GraphicsMagick before 1.3.24 and the SVG renderer in ImageMagick allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (infinite loop) by converting a circularly defined SVG file.
The bug was discovered 05/01/2016. The weakness was disclosed 02/27/2017 by Gustavo Grieco (oss-sec). The advisory is available at openwall.com.
