In Wireshark 2.2.0 to 2.2.4 and 2.0.0 to 2.0.10, there is an RTMPT dissector infinite loop, triggered by packet injection or a malformed capture file. This was addressed in epan/dissectors/packet-rtmpt.c by properly incrementing a certain sequence value.
The bug was discovered 03/03/2017. The weakness was presented 03/04/2017 as Bug 13347 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). It is possible to read the advisory at bugs.wireshark.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2017-6472 since 03/03/2017. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
