Cross-origin images can be read from a canvas element in violation of the same-origin policy using the transferFromImageBitmap method. *Note: This only affects Firefox 65. Previous versions are unaffected.*. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 65.0.1.

The bug was discovered 02/12/2019. The weakness was published 04/26/2019 by Guang Gong with Qihoo 360 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at seclists.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2018-18511 since 10/19/2018. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1592 according to MITRE ATT&CK.

The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 73 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $5k-$25k.
