A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in PHP-Nuke AutoHTML module 2.0 (Content Management System). Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the file autohtml.php of the component modload. The manipulation of the argument name
with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in autohtml.php in the AutoHTML module for PHP-Nuke allows local users to include arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the name parameter for a modload operation.
The weakness was released 08/16/2006 (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2006-4190 since 08/16/2006. The exploitation is known to be easy.
