PHP remote file inclusion vulnerability in admin/editor2/spaw_control.class.php in the Cjay Content 3 module for XOOPS allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code via a URL in the spaw_root parameter. NOTE: this may be a duplicate of CVE-2006-4656.

The weakness was shared 06/13/2007 by FiSh (Website). The advisory is available at vupen.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2007-3220 since 06/14/2007. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known.

A public exploit has been developed by g00ns and been published immediately after the advisory. It is possible to download the exploit at immunitysec.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:admin/editor2/spaw_control.class.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 25372 (XOOPS Multiple Modules spaw_control.class.php spaw_root Parameter Remote File Inclusion), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family CGI abuses.
