The get_name function in net/tipc/socket.c in the Linux kernel before 2.6.37-rc2 does not initialize a certain structure, which allows local users to obtain potentially sensitive information from kernel stack memory by reading a copy of this structure.
The issue has been introduced in 03/20/2006. The weakness was shared 01/03/2011 as Bug 649717 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-3877. The attack needs to be approached locally. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
