Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in file_download.php in MantisBT before 1.2.18 allows remote authenticated users to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a Flash file with an image extension, related to inline attachments, as demonstrated by a .swf.jpeg filename.

The weakness was published 01/09/2015 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at mantisbt.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2014-9271 since 12/04/2014. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Upgrading to version 1.2.8 eliminates this vulnerability.
