A vulnerability has been found in ImageMagick (Image Processing Software) (version now known) and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the file coders/dds.c of the component DDS File Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a input validation vulnerability. The bug was discovered 09/29/2016. The weakness was released 04/19/2017 (oss-sec). The advisory is available at openwall.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2014-9907 since 09/22/2016. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
