A vulnerability has been found in PHP up to 7.1.7/7.2.16/7.3.3 (Programming Language Software) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects the function exif_process_IFD_TAG of the component EXIF Extension. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. When processing certain files, PHP EXIF extension in versions 7.1.x below 7.2.8, 7.2.x below 7.2.17 and 7.3.x below 7.3.4 can be caused to read past allocated buffer in exif_process_IFD_TAG function. This may lead to information disclosure or crash.
The bug was discovered 04/15/2019. The weakness was shared 04/18/2019 (Website). The advisory is available at seclists.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2019-11034 since 04/09/2019.
