Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the file windows.controllers. The manipulation of the argument window.controllers with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The weakness was disclosed 04/13/2006 by Georgi Guninski (shutdown) with TippingPoint and the Zero Day Initiative as MFSA2006-17 as not defined advisory (Website). The advisory is available at mozilla.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2006-1732 since 04/12/2006. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 21993 (CentOS 4 : firefox (CESA-2006:0328)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family CentOS Local Security Checks.
