Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird before 1.5.0.4 associates XUL attributes with the wrong URL under certain unspecified circumstances, which might allow remote attackers to bypass restrictions by causing a persisted string to be associated with the wrong URL.
The weakness was disclosed 06/02/2006 by Jonas Sicking (moz_bug_r_a4) with Mozilla as MFSA2006-35 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at mozilla.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2006-2775 since 06/02/2006. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
