Mozilla Firefox before 2.0.0.8 and SeaMonkey before 1.1.5 do not properly implement JavaScript onUnload handlers, which allows remote attackers to run certain JavaScript code and access the location DOM hierarchy in the context of the next web site that is visited by a client.
The weakness was published 10/19/2007 by Igor Bukanov Eli Friedman Jesse Ruderman as MFSA2007-30 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at mozilla.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2007-1095 since 02/26/2007. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
It is declared as proof-of-concept. We expect the 0-day to have been worth approximately $25k-$100k.
