A vulnerability was found in KDE K-Mail. It has been rated as critical. The manipulation of the argument --status-fd with an unknown input leads to a unknown weakness. Impacted is integrity. The summary by CVE is:
KMail 1.9.5 and earlier does not properly use the --status-fd argument when invoking GnuPG, which prevents KMail from visually distinguishing between signed and unsigned portions of OpenPGP messages with multiple components, which allows remote attackers to forge the contents of a message without detection.
The weakness was released 03/06/2007 by Core Security with CORE Security Technologies (Website). The advisory is shared at vupen.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-1265 since 03/04/2007. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
