A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in Adobe Flash Player 8 (Multimedia Player Software). This affects the function navigatetourl of the component ActiveX Control. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in Adobe Flash Player 9.x up to 9.0.48.0 and 8.x up to 8.0.35.0 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via (1) a SWF file that uses the asfunction: protocol or (2) the navigateToURL function when used with the Flash Player ActiveX Control in Internet Explorer.
The weakness was disclosed 12/19/2007 by Stanford University (Adobe) with Stanford University (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at us-cert.gov. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2007-6244 since 12/05/2007. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation.
