Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 through 9 allows user-assisted remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted HTML document that is not properly handled during a "Print table of links" print operation, aka "Print Feature Remote Code Execution Vulnerability."

The weakness was released 04/10/2012 by linx2008 with AISec as MS12-023 as confirmed knowledge base article (Website). The advisory is shared at technet.microsoft.com. The public release was coordinated with Microsoft. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2012-0168 since 12/13/2011. The attack can be launched remotely. The successful exploitation needs a single authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059 for this issue.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 58655 (MS12-023: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (2675157)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
