Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 through 10 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via a crafted web site, aka "Internet Explorer Memory Corruption Vulnerability," a different vulnerability than CVE-2013-3144 and CVE-2013-3151.
The weakness was presented 07/09/2013 by Jose Antonio Vazquez Gonzalez with iDEFENSE Labs as ms13-jul as confirmed bulletin (Technet) via iDefense. The advisory is available at technet.microsoft.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2013-3163 since 04/17/2013. The attack needs to be done within the local network. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

The impacted product is end-of-life and should be disconnected if still in use.Applying the patch MS13-JUL is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at technet.microsoft.com. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 13041.
