The t2p_readwrite_pdf_image_tile function in LibTIFF allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds write and crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code via a JPEG file with a TIFFTAG_JPEGTABLES of length one.

The bug was discovered 11/11/2016. The weakness was disclosed 01/27/2017 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.maptools.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2016-9453 since 11/18/2016. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
