A vulnerability has been found in Jasper up to 1.900.8 (Programming Tool Software) and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is the function jpc_tsfb_synthesize of the file jpc_tsfb.c. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. The jpc_tsfb_synthesize function in jpc_tsfb.c in JasPer before 1.900.9 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference) via vectors involving an empty sequence.
The bug was discovered 10/20/2016. The weakness was released 03/15/2017 by Agostino Sarubbo with Gentoo (GitHub Repository). It is possible to read the advisory at github.com.
