A vulnerability was found in ImageMagick and GraphicsMagick up to 6.9.3 (Image Processing Software). It has been rated as critical. The gnuplot delegate functionality in ImageMagick before 6.9.4-0 and GraphicsMagick allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via unspecified vectors.

The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-5239 since 06/02/2016. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. Upgrading to version 6.9.4-0 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published even before and not after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
