A vulnerability was found in Artifex Ghostscript 9.20 (Document Processing Software). It has been classified as problematic. This affects the function pdf14_open of the file base/gdevp14.c of the component Color Management. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a use after free vulnerability. The pdf14_open function in base/gdevp14.c in Artifex Software, Inc. Ghostscript 9.20 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (use-after-free and application crash) via a crafted file that is mishandled in the color management module.
The bug was discovered 12/27/2016. The weakness was released 04/03/2017 as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). It is possible to read the advisory at git.ghostscript.com.
