A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in Artifex Ghostscript 9.20 (Document Processing Software). Affected is the function gs_makewordimagedevice of the file base/gsdevmem.c. The gs_makewordimagedevice function in base/gsdevmem.c in Artifex Software, Inc. Ghostscript 9.20 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and application crash) via a crafted file that is mishandled in the PDF Transparency module.
The bug was discovered 12/21/2016. The weakness was shared 04/03/2017 as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). The advisory is available at ghostscript.com.
