A vulnerability was found in Artifex Ghostscript 9.20 (Document Processing Software). It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects the function intersect of the file base/gxfill.c. The intersect function in base/gxfill.c in Artifex Software, Inc. Ghostscript 9.20 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (divide-by-zero error and application crash) via a crafted file.
The bug was discovered 12/23/2016. The weakness was presented 04/03/2017 as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). The advisory is shared at ghostscript.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-10219 since 02/09/2017. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
