Lotus Notes Domino 6.0.2 on Linux installs the notes.ini configuration file with world-writable permissions, which allows local users to modify the Notes configuration and gain privileges.
The bug was discovered 01/06/2001. The weakness was presented 01/06/2004 by l0om as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2004-0029. Access to the local network is required for this attack to succeed. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
