Lotus Notes Domino 6.0.2 on Linux installs the notes.ini configuration file with world-writable permissions, which allows local users to modify the Notes configuration and gain privileges.

The bug was discovered 01/06/2001. The weakness was presented 01/06/2004 by l0om as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2004-0029. Access to the local network is required for this attack to succeed. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The current price for an exploit might be approx. USD $0-$5k (estimation calculated on 06/27/2019).
