The weakness was disclosed 10/16/2009 (Website). The advisory is available at vupen.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2009-3697. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1505 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

It is assigned to the family Debian Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 12324 (phpMyAdmin SQL Injection and Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerabilities (PMASA-2009-6)).

Upgrading to version 2.11.9.3 eliminates this vulnerability.
